ELIZABETH ENGLISH
Inspiration for a painting can come from a hundred different things. For me it's always about colours how they work together, where they take me to.
A field of flowers, a sunset, a quirky interior or just
light playing on a pool of water.

A visit to a flea market, a right good rummage and bingo an old chocolate tin discovered and I'm transported to a salon in Matisse's Provence.
Nearly always flowers are involved.

I work mainly in acrylics on canvas or paper and have played with adding freeform embroidery on top of pictures to add texture and form. Increasingly I like to work on a large scale to create a world you can tumble into'

I split my time between England and Kuwait drawing inspiration and being influenced by the diversity of my surroundings

I'm also lucky enough to work with the creative team at SOLD studio(UK) a charity that works with adults with learning differences and/or autism helping them to commercially develop their skills.

"There are always flowers for those who want to see them."
